New Hampshire Insurance Department
The mission of the New Hampshire Insurance Department is to promote and protect the public good by ensuring the existence of a safe and competitive insurance marketplace through the development and enforcement of the insurance laws of the State of New Hampshire. We are committed to doing so in an honest, effective and timely manner.

The New Hampshire Insurance Department was established in 1851, the first insurance regulatory agency in the United States. The responsibilities of the Insurance Department are codified by the provisions of RSA 400-A of the Insurance Laws. The Insurance Commissioner is charged with the enforcement of insurance laws of the State of New Hampshire, including collection of premium taxes and fees, regulation of all insurance companies, agents and adjusters.

NH Business Resource Center, Division of Economic Development
As the marketing team for the Insurance Department’s new premium tax rate, the New Hampshire Business Resource Center and the International Trade Resource Center offer resources to enhance the economic activities of the state through business attraction outreach, in-state business expansion efforts, and facilitation of government and international sales.

The mission of the Business Resource Center (BRC) is twofold:
• to retain and help expand existing New Hampshire businesses.
• to attract new companies to our great state.

The BRC acts as a single point of contact for businesses seeking assistance in areas ranging from licensing and financing to permitting and workforce training. In addition, the BRC works in conjunction with federal, regional, local and other State agencies, as well as with private sector partners, to deliver a comprehensive array of services to New Hampshire companies at all stages of their growth cycle.
